Republican Senator David Vitter and New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, both married, both champions of morality, both had sex with prostitutes, both resigned - no wait! The anti-gay senator is still in office! (Governor Spitzer did the manly thing. Not the hooker part - the taking responsibility for his actions part.) During a conference call between Vitter and several of his constituents, Scott Jordon, a local reporter, asked him why he refused to step down from the Senate. Vitter reportedly became defiant: “Anybody who looks at the two cases will see there is an enormous difference between the two of them.” (Well. let’s see. David likes to wear diapers while having sex with hookers. And Eliot doesn’t. So yes, that’s one difference. Please continue, Senator Vitter:) “The people that are trying to draw comparisons to the two cases are people who’ve never agreed with me on important issues like immigration and other things.” Yeah! Other things! So there! Mean ole’ reporter.
